I am glad God made Moms

May 10, 2012

Few people on this earth have more influence in our lives than our moms.  In fact, I have read studies indicating that a mother’s relationship with her child from birth to age five is the single most important factor in the development of one’s personality.  Now that explains a lot, doesn’t it?

A common question after one of my “Ed”ertainment concerts is a whimsical, “How did you get this way?”  Each time I’m asked I proudly respond, “Well, have you met my mother?” and that seems to answer the question rather well.  How blessed and grateful I am that God gave me my mom.

I believe that a primary reason mothers have such a profound influence on us is that they see their children much like God sees us—they see what we can become. They are able to look past our flaws and shortcomings and with profound love, see the vast potential within us—even when no one else can see it. See how very much our Father loves us, for he calls us his children, and that is what we are!  …but he has not yet shown us what we will be like when Christ appears… (1 John 3:1-3).

For Mother’s Day, we have a very special and FREE gift for you.  It begins with an article and includes a free book for you to download*. The article is written by our own, Angie Torres Moure, a young mother of two.  Angie oversees much of LOGOI’s communications with our growing group of over 10,000 Spanish pastors and teaching leaders each month.

We asked Angie to interview Elizabeth Baker as we are introducing her wonderful book to a new generation in this month’s communications.  Naturally, we just had to share it with you as well. *Sorry, ye whom art technologically challenged— this book is only available via the internet.

What a joy to provide Biblical resources like this to thousands of pastors and their wives— totally free.  It is part of LOGOI’s ministry to encourage, help, and teach them.  And as you can see, it goes well beyond just helping them understand Scripture.  It involves the whole person—including their relationships with their wives and children.

We know you’ll enjoy this article and do hope you’ll take advantage of the free download of her book. And of course, we do pray the Lord will encourage you to help the ministry of LOGOI.  Your prayers and gifts are used to
encourage, teach, and impact the lives and ministries of thousands of Spanish pastors and leaders overseas.

Thank you for being a part.

Forever,

Ed Thompson
