IS
real name is Luis Viñas Deugudjián, but “Cuky” (pronounced “coo-key”) is a whole lot easier.  He is 42 years old, married to Silvina, is a pastor in Argentina, and loves expository preaching and small group Bible studies.
I met Cuky a month or so ago when he joined LOGOI’s Virtual Pastor’s Office.  I had no idea who he was so I sent him a note to welcome him and get to know him a little better.  Through the marvels of technology incorporated into LOGOI’s website, I sent my note to him in English but it arrived to him in Spanish. He wrote back to me in Spanish, but it arrived to me in English.  Isn’t that cool?

So I’ve started to get to know Cuky and a little about his desire to help others fall in love with God’s Word.  Now, you should know he is absolutely ecstatic about LOGOI’s Virtual Pastor’s Office.

“Do you know how hard it is to find good Bible resources around here?” he asked in a recent note.  “It is almost impossible to find this type of pastoral material.  Then when I can find some helpful books, they are so expensive I can’t afford them.”  He then went on to say,  “But thanks be to God, He has given me LOGOI.”

I was looking over a letter sent to our ministry partners back in the 1970’s.  See if any of this 1970’s stuff sounds familiar: “sponsor a pastor; provide much needed Bible resources; get to know him, etc.”  Back then, we even gave out cool LOGOI digital clocks to stick on your refrigerator as a prayer reminder.

I don’t suspect we’ll be handing out LOGOI-refrigerator-magnet-prayer-reminder-digital-clocks anymore.  What we’re able to do today is so much more exciting, memorable, and helpful—you can actually “talk” directly with Cuky himself for FREE (as explained above).

It’s encouraging to see that while our “tools” may have changed over the years, LOGOI’s focus on training and equipping pastors to effectively teach and preach God’s Word has never changed.

And don’t worry.  While our high-tech impersonal world moves at light speed, we still know there is nothing better than face-to-face encounters.  So, while our Virtual Pastor’s Office is meeting the needs of a rapidly growing host of pastors and leaders overseas, we are preparing a ministry team to head back to Cuba this November where real hugs and handshakes will be served up by our brothers and sisters in Christ.

Your ministry partnership enables both styles of ministry to continue.  The ministry of LOGOI is to “equip God’s people to do His work and build up the church, the body of Christ.”  Over 900 pastors and leaders have already signed up for our Virtual Pastor’s Office—and we haven’t even officially opened those doors yet. Hundreds more will joyfully enjoy our face-to-face ministry this year in places like Cuba and Nicaragua.

So if you are computer savvy, you just have to check out our very exciting “new way to do missions.” If, on the other hand, the high tech computer world simply isn’t your cup of tea, you can still help someone like Cuky with a little help from your friends here at LOGOI. Simply enclose your gift and check the corresponding box on the enclosed reply card.  We’ll do the rest and report back to you.  How easy is that?

Thank you for your prayers and encouragement. You are the lifeblood of this ministry.

God bless,

Ed Thompson
