Febrero 2011

For a good part of that day, as the cards kept coming, I was quite amazed at how many high school girls were secretly admiring me.  Now, I’ll admit I’m not the sharpest knife in the drawer, so it should have dawned on me much sooner there was something very suspicious going on.  It wasn’t until I got the final card with a funny picture of my coach’s face glued on it that I realized my buddies on the football team were playing a prank.  As my “secret admirer” world came crashing back to reality, we all enjoyed a good laugh—well, it’s funny now.

Some of my favorite gospel messages are those where the pastor is talking about how God is incredibly fond of us.  It just doesn’t seem right, however.  After all, why would the Almighty God, the Ruler of all there is and ever will be, the One who made the stars, the seas, mountains, and every thing there is…really like someone like me?

BUT… here it is, direct from God’s Word:

“How precious are your thoughts about me, O God, They cannot be numbered…they outnumber the grains of sand!” (Ps. 139: 17, 18). And then we’re told, “For we are God’s masterpiece.  He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things he planned for us long ago” (Eph. 2:10).

It’s mind-boggling to consider God is thinking about us all the time.  In fact, not a moment goes by where you and I are not foremost in His mind.  For a bit of perspective, next time you’re at the beach, take a look at the grains of sand stretched out before you.  God’s thoughts about you outnumber every one of them!

One of the beautiful things God has given us at the ministry of LOGOI is the special way we can remind others of this amazing truth.  In December, for example, we asked you to help make it possible for pastors and leaders on LOGOI’s website to receive the items they indicated on their Wish List.  By God’s grace, we received enough gifts to do just that!

Imagine their joy and gratefulness to God as they learned the Bible books and materials that are so difficult for them to obtain or afford are waiting for them in their LOGOI online office.  And in a very real and tangible way, God is using us to answer prayers and remind them that the Almighty God is thinking about them all the time, too.

Aren’t you glad God is not a “secret” admirer?  There is no secret about His love for you and for me.  Likewise, there is no secret that He “created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things he planned for us long ago.”

So come on, let’s do those “good things.”  A simple and very effective way is to provide much-needed Bible resources and materials to indigenous pastors and leaders throughout the Spanish world. On average, every $10 helps one pastor—and can be delivered instantly through LOGOI.  Simply click on this Paypal Donate button, and we’ll take care of the rest.

Thank you and God bless,

Ed Thompson

After all, everyone loves a “secret” admirer.
