The second place winner of LOGOI’s November 2009 writing contest is Ricardo Estévez Carmona. His article on “Today’s challenges for the Church in Latin America” is now available at LOGOI. Ricardo is from Montevideo, Uruguay. He is a Bible scholar having spent five decades studying the Scripture, church history, and doctrine. He says his theology is based on the unchangeable truths of scripture put into action in our every day lives. He has been on the National Executive Committee of OM SIM in Uruguay since its inception. He is married to Neida and they have four children and five grandchildren. He began preaching when he was 16 with his first pastorate at the age of 17. He rejoices that his entire family loves the Lord.
