From his earliest days of ministry, parishioners and students called him Dr. Don. He loves people, preaches, teaches and writes to bring insight, renewal and healing to God’s children.
Dr. Don began full time ministry after doctoral work in Edinburgh, Scotland. In Seattle he served first as a youth pastor, then as a professor at Seattle Pacific College (now University). After 14 years, he and his wife, Kathleen, along with their children Cherith, Elyse and James, moved to Wilmore, Kentucky. Kathleen invested 28 years in the Asbury Seminary alumni office, and Don 34 years at the Seminary as dean of students (for 8 years), professor and mentor. Retired, he continues to teach now and again, speak, write, and help seminarians on their spiritual journeys.
Gardening, stamp collecting, books, friends, four grandchildren and one great grand child, a son Ayden, occupy his leisure time. Feel free to contact Dr. Don; he thoroughly enjoys helping people. You might even get invited to his house for tea.
