To Jesus Crucified
May my eyes remain before the cross
Still, Lord, and looking,
And, against their will, may they weep,
For they have sinned greatly and are cold.
And may my lips that speak my digressions
Remain singing, Lord,
And, against their will, may they pray,
For they have sinned greatly and are wicked.
And so with my gaze pinned on you,
And with my words imprisoned,
And your flesh clenches to the cross,
My entire soul remains, Lord,
And that also clinging to your cross is my life,
Lord, so, when you wish I will die.
