T’S THE MIDDLE OF SEPTEMBER, which means Christmas is roughly 100 days away. I’m certain one or two of my relatives have already completed their Christmas shopping and, sadly, will never experience the last minute holiday panic to which I’ve grown accustomed. It may be a “left-brain/right-brain” issue. My right brain lives somewhere in Fiji and is enjoying a nice island breeze while it naps in a hammock. My left brain is still hiding in a closet in a Wheaton College science lab.
As was announced several weeks ago, I’m having a lot of fun putting a book together featuring expanded versions from many of the letters and stories I’ve written to you over the years. We will happily be sending a FREE e-book version to all those who are part of our LOGOI giving family for Thanksgiving. Our plan is simple… we hope you really enjoy it and will order a bunch of paperback copies to use as Christmas gifts for your family and friends. Or, if you don’t like it, you can order a copy to send to the people you don’t much like.
All proceeds will go to help our Five Dollar Mission ministry. Some of the stories may make you laugh out loud while others may have you reaching for a Kleenex. Each one includes a look heavenward as we consider “…how wide, how long, how high, and how deep is the love of Christ” (Ephesians 3:18). And you will have a simple, practical, and tangible way to really benefit LOGOI’s ministry.
And yes, we could really use the help. Each week, our ministry grows with new national missionaries joining our family. The Lord is enabling us to provide on-the-job Bible training and encouragement to many thousands spread across 32 countries. It’s all very exciting. And while almost everything is free to our national missionaries (except for our diploma courses), we have the joy of being a part of “building up the church, the body of Christ” (Ephesians 4:12) with our prayers and financial backing.
Thank you for your faithful and generous partnership. It is a joy and honor to serve the Lord with you.
